2026 Jessie Clark Track & Field

Tryout Information: Sign up on Coach Evans door (Room 508) to sign up for tryouts (Name and Grade)

All athletes will tryout in…400 Dash, Long Jump, 1,600 (1 mile) Run, and Shot Put)

 

Monday (March 8th): Girls Tryouts (6th, 7th, and 8th Grade) from 4:10-6:10

Tuesday (March 9th): Boys Tryouts (6th, 7th, and 8th Grade) from 4:10-6:10

 

***The final list of who makes both of the boys and girls teams (pending 3rd 9 week grade checks) will be posted on JCMS glass doors @ 8:00pm on March 9th (Tryout #’s will be posted, so please remember your tryout #’s)***

 

Tryout/Team Membership Requirements

Athletes must have and turn in the KHSAA physical form signed by doctor before they can participate.

All tryouts will take place March 8TH– 9th. If you have already participated in a sport at Jessie Clark this year, You will be responsible for contacting Mark Evans to see if it is up to date. All new physicals need to be turned in to Coach Evans in his room (room 508).

Other Information

All track members must maintain a GPA of no lower than a 2.0.

Equipment Needed

· Running shoes

· Appropriate running attire for practice

· Water bottle or sports drink for every practice

· Towel (to lay on for stretching and core work)

 

Approximately 60-80 athletes will be kept on the team this year.

 

*Please do some training/running on your own so that the work we do in tryouts will not be such a shock to your body.

Parents can watch tryouts from the parking lot, you cannot be on the track

 

· List of who makes the team will be posted on the glass doors on 3/11/2025 @ 8:00pm

· 1st Practice will be 3/10/2026 after school until 5:30

· Parent/Team Meeting will be 3/18/2026 after practice @ 5:30 in the cafeteria

· If you play another sport please talk with Coach Evans about the possibility of conflicts
